On the way to PEI and back again!

Today is my parents’ anniversary. They were married on June 8, 1944, and they made it 55 years together, before Mom passed away. It seems fitting to be heading out on a trip like this on their anniversary, because they surely did love traveling together. They took many trips to many different places, mostly to Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas during January, February, and March.  What great times they had, and how we enjoyed getting postcards from wherever they ended up. Well, nowadays a blog is something like a postcard, and I intend to keep posting those. But since we haven’t gone anywhere yet, I’ll post a couple of pictures from one of Mom and Dad’s many trips together. Mom is not in many of the pictures of those trips, as she was the photographer. (Well, she had her photography issues as well, but Dad seemed to be all thumbs whenever he held a camera.) Partly Mom took the pictures because she was the one who wanted pictures, and partly she just operated a Kodak 110 Instamatic better than my dad (as evidenced in these pictures).

We are ready to head out. The lists have been checked and the bags are packed. The adventure lies ahead. Let's hope R.J. and I have learned to embrace the day, the way Charlie and Audrey Arnold did!
